Consider me your crew slave - but I can't afford to get costume ready and the absence of a multi-talented machine gives me problems. I will however be what every game needs - I'll make sure the crew eat, fetch tea and coffee for the refs, clean up afterwards and watch the ref hut so nothing gets nicked.

I'd love to go, but I'm having severe problems finding anywhere that does costume. Anyone any links or addresses or such? If I can find a costume, I'll go.

Male clothing has changed remarkably little over the last 100 years, at least in terms of formalwear; you can probably pick up a suit from a charity shop that wouldn't look too out of place (depending on your character - if you're going for landed gentry you may have to splash out a little more). Vintage clothing shops would be an obvious bet, if you were to come down to Manc we could show you the one in Affleck's Palace but I don't know what's around where you are.

It may be worth noting that Victorian England is actually concurrent with the wild west, so a lot of the stuff townspeople wear in westerns may be applicable. Have a peek here and here.

Of paramount importance, of course, is the hat.

I found a victorian gents costume, but it's £30 for the full thing, so I reckon it's a cheapo fancy dress thing.
What I'm actually after is a military jacket, Fusillier or Charge of the Light Brigade style stuff, as I happen to own a military pith helmet that would go perfect with such a jacket, and it seems a shame not to use it.
Sadly, a trip down to Manc isn't really possible with my current college course, no free time for trips really. I figured there would be one in Afflecks Palace, as I know there used to be one in the Corn Exchange, and most of the shops there moved to the palace.
