1. Is there any publishing agency that you would refuse to have your name attached to, and why?
None spring immediately to mind.
2. Is there an objective to your art?
I strive to entertain. There is also an element of attention-seeking, naturally. But mostly I draw because it isn't possible for me not to.
3. Name and explain 3 role models you have had or still have.
Peter David, because he writes with intelligence and wit, and is unashamed to construct an entire epic plot around a single dreadful pun.
At one point in my life I wanted to draw exactly like Dan Jurgens; this was not to be.
I think, very briefly, Nook was a role model. Because he was so funny and shameless and big and brave and rugged and ... it tended to tail off a bit at that point.
4. Place in order of importance to you the following means of evaluating life: morality, cause and effect, poetry, comedy, beauty, love, coolness. You may add, subtract or substitute 1 element to make the list more truthful or interesting. Explain or define if you like.
love
morality
comedy
coolness
poetry
beauty
I have removed cause and effect, since I am not sure how that would be used to evaluate life.
Beauty is a good vague thing, because you can say "Ah, but there is beauty in poetry is there not?" I'm using it here in the literal, physical sense. Conversely, poetry is here used more metaphorically; a life with poetry, with balance and measure and ironies and contrasts. Or something.
I think all of these things are important to some degree (except beauty, in the purely physical sense - you're not a Better Person by being prettier, though it certainly contributes to coolness). Everyone should have comedy in their life, though not at the expense of their morals. And so forth. I don't know. I didn't put a great deal of thought into it, it just happened that way. Bleh.
5. If you had the time and means to keep any pet, what would it be?
I'm going to assume that "means" means I also had the memory and attentiveness to care for a pet. I once had a cactus; it died of thirst. Regardless - if I had a pet, any pet, it would be ... erm ... I am going to be random and say it would be a digimon. Nyah.
