I was asked to post on Pagga advertising stuff at my work. I said OK, but only the stuff that I actually think is going to be good, and with a special offer for anyone taking it up. And written by me in my own language. They said OK. Nobody took up the offer.
Well, see, that was blatant promotion, and nothing to be ashamed of, so people are more likely to tune it out. This viral marketing stuff - finely-tuned psychologically loaded stuff - is a lot more insidious.
Man, that's kind of creepy, but not entirely unexpected. I'm gonna think about that for a bit while enjoying an ice-cold Dr. Pepper (http://drpepper.com/dp/html/index.html).
