God, I remember Transformers magazine... don't remember your letter, though. Small world...
And I think my mastery of the language was probably as good as yours at 11. I too was a precocious brat... I often wonder if all LRPers were at some point... :)
Oh, wait, did you mean ... the thing about Starscream? Yeah, lots of stuff was supposed to happen this year ... though that's only really because the UK comics were lagging about a year behind the Americans (Transformers: The Movie happened in 2005).
Mine were all sold! I thought the collections like Dinobot Hunt had been saved, but I can't find them anywhere. I think issues 1-80ish were the hay day of Transformers. It really went down hill towards the end I seem to recall.
Looking through the summaries, I think my favourite period was around 200 - the Time Wars were cool. Certainly by 300 I thought it was getting a bit dull, despite what should theoretically be a gripping plotline (Unicron invading Cybertron 20 years too early, massive casualties, origins revealed etc) the art was suffering and I thought to a degree it was treading old ground.
Still, if I'd known it was the Big Finale I might have stuck around.

I stopped collecting at 320. Upon seeing that the comic only ran to 332, I am officially gutted.
