Hmm ... have an actual interview next Wednesday (oh, my Birthday).  It's down in Newcastle-under-lyme, which is kind of far.  If I do start freelancing on Monday, I may well call to cancel.

It's a similar distance to my commute. Find out if they'd agree to flexitime and/or you working from home a couple of days a week, if so it might not be too bad.

Woeking from home isn't that great for me, I'm too easily distracted. Given the choice between a day's freelancing and an interview 40 miles away ...
