Man from garage has rung - apparently my brake fluid lines are made of metal and one of them has burst. This will cost an estimated £125 to fix. I have elected to have this work done, because I am a soft touch.
Heh. That is exactly what happened to my car when I drove to Liverpool once (and that's not a good place to break down in the middle of a rough housing estate at night when your mobile has also ran out of power and every phone box you find has been vandalised and so you have to go into really dodgy looking local pub to ring the AA). I too had to have the break pipe replaced. Juast as a thought, have you had a new cam belt fitted to your car? You should try and find out when it last had one.
