I have made it through only the prelude and some of the intro. It seems eerily similar to olde-style Mage (Paradox, echoes of consensual reality, tass, superfluous "k") while being notably different (single source of magic identified ("Supernal World", being a reality that is higher up the chain of being than our own - q.v. Dead Romance et al), Atlantis, five "Watchtowers" of magical resonance, reshuffled spheres). Emphasis on Rotes appears high.
Apparently despite the single "root source" of magic being clearly labelled from Chapter 1, there's still a wide variety of different methods of working the stuff available - all "mortal" occult lore comes from echoes of this real magic, so you can do it using Tarot cards, qabbalah, whatever you please, really. It's still sort of about imposing your will on reality, only it's now a special feature of humanity rather than simply being a by-product of the universe existing (or whatever - they never really thought it through IMO). Humanity's souls came from the higher realm initially for (as the intro puts it) "shits and giggles", and got lulled to sleep. In some ways it has more similarities with Changeling than Mage (though only in terms of origins, none of that funky shared-hallucination LRP-analogue stuff).
I am assured by gowhonker that it is indeed good. It certainly shows promise thus far.
Aye got that for Christmas and quite liked it. Tried my hand at converting Aberrant (and, indeed, the LEgacy LRP idea) to it without much success. Mage is the game I enjoy running the most of the remaining WoW games so I might look at it.
