Sorted, respect due

Despite reminding myself about it all week, I very nearly managed to forget to go to my Jobcentre appointment.  D'oh!  Luckily, tractorb's idle musings about whether she'd be better off on the dole reminded me.  Which, in turn, reminded me to get them to put a stamp on my Student Loans repayment deferment application form (am I earning less than £1800 per month, let me think, hmmm).  I really don't think I'll ever be in the position where I have to pay them back.

Then, on the way back, I thought to pop into the opticians and ask if they do NHS vouchers - they do.  I am booked in for a (free) eye test tomorrow morning.  I've been meaning to do that since I lost a contact lens, about a month ago.

So, that's several things I've been meaning to do, all out of the way.  Now ... I'm sure there was something else I had to do ...

Student Loans - be careful. They "lost" my forms on two consecutive occasions a few years back, and they didn't bother to tell me, and when I last spoke to them they smilingly demanded three or four thousand pounds despite my never having earned more than 1,800 a month ever in my life ever.

Yeah, I gather they can only backdate a deferment by 3 months for arbitrary reasons. They also can't repay any money that they've already taken by direct debit, which is why I cancelled mine (they started sucking cash away this time last year, because the letter from them never arrived - luckily I spotted after the first month).
