For the C2P job, the agent has asked me to go through the job spec and answer each of the "Skills, Knowledge and Experience" bullet points with an example of when I have used that skill.  Some of them are fine ("Knowledge and previous use of FTP/SSH clients") but I'm having difficulty with the one that says:
  • Track record of being results focused, committed to success and making it happen at all times
I have no idea how to respond to that.  The only thing I can think of is:
  • Making It Happen is one of my favourite things.
Which, I suspect, would not win me points.  The job application, like the brisk questioning of the stalwart customs official, is neither the time nor the place for levity.

Quite aside from it being a complete and total falsehood.

id just bull$hit about how in the past id worked hard to make something work without any real incentive or just talk sh!t so that you potray an image of wanting projects you work on to suceed, see? I learnt not how to do these things, but how to pretend to do these things...

Focus on the quantifiable aspect of the question, or as it is also known 'a proven track record'

In your previous jobs did you ever find yourself driving a project where other people were being lax?

If not then you have to tell them you did, as [livejournal.com profile] mj_uk says, tell them what they want to hear.

After all, it's not like they are actually going to check up.

Oh one other thing is that they like specifics, they like names and dates, it makes it seem more believable than a general blag.

F'rinstance saying 'In December I worked on the java content of example.co.uk as a driving member of a team built for the purpose' is a hell of a lot better than saying 'I have experience in Java' It's all in the sell :)
