Yeah, while I'm here and not plugged in.
Inexplicably, I currently can't get enough of A1's cover of "Take On Me" from a few years back. I rediscovered the single when I was ripping things into my new computer - initially it was bought because it had a Quicktime file of the video on the CD, which was an enormously funky affair involving virtual reality and lightcycles, and plenty of Matrix-inspired imagery - and I've yet to get tired of listening to it. It is very much pop pap, of course, with those ever-present strings and reverb, but it's also got a hint of electronica and maybe even funk. I don't know, it's just a great fun record that doesn't care what people think of it. Plus, of course, I'm always a fan of different versions of familiar songs.
Aside from anything else it's a good song to show off your vocal range. Maybe I'll sing it karaoke some time.
