The weird thing is, despite smtp2 not existing, it wasn't actually failing to find it, it was just being rejected, saying "553 sorry, you don't authenticate or the domain isn't in the list of allowed rcpthosts".
Apparently Alex had forgotten to delete smtp2 from his dyndns setup, which can't have helped things.
Bizarrely the only time it failed for me was when I tried sending to myself from Outlook Express instead of webmail. This may be coincidence.
