Exercise continues for SECOND DAY IN A ROW shock horror. Today I walked in the other direction to see if I could reach the other pub; it turned out to be only ten minutes away. Guh. If only there was a happy medium between the two pubs - somewhere to walk to, that's easy on the eye and possibly sells food (if I was reliant on the walk for lunch I'd be a lot more likely to keep it up). There is a cafe trailer by the side of the road about 20 minutes walk away (I kept going after the pub), but I don't know what kind of food it sells and it looks dodgy. Also it's a walk along the main road, which is not as pleasant as the back road. Also less hilly so less effort is required (bad - I am trying to exercise after all).
wulfboy has reminded me that GMs like to be told when their sessions have been enjoyed, and
arwel reminded me that I haven't told our GM that I love him lately. Monday's D&D game (run by
ghostbritain) was great fun indeed. Quite aside from the fact that he spontaneously showered us with snacky items (my halfling ranger now has a quiver of holding, which is fantastic because I was constantly running low on arrows - not out, just low, so it was really quite annoying - and also I can fit all my other weapons in it so they don't weigh me down), I had a great time pelting people with fruit.
To elaborate a little, we were at a banquet without any of our weapons when ninjas attacked. Since I had just been toying with the idea of throwing apples at people - testing them for weight, figuring how far I could throw and what damage it would do - in the first round of combat I leapt up on the table and threw one at the nearest foe. Nook decided that your basic thrown object, not designed for combat, does 1d4 damage, subdual if it's soft (like an apple). That's not fantastic, but better than I expected. Since it was thrown rather than a bow, I got my strength bonus to damage (but couldn't rapidshot); since the enemy was within 30feet I got an extra +1 damage from Point Blank Shot. So I'm doing 4-7 damage with each hit, and they only have about 12 HP each. With my +12 Melee attack roll I'm not missing a lot. (That's +4 Class, +4 Dex, +1 Ghostwise Halfling, +1 Size, +1 Bardic Song, +1 Point Blank Shot - I honestly didn't mean to get so hard so quickly, and spent much of the combat laughing at the stupidity of the score. "You've rolled a 6 ... that's a miss." "What, they're in 18AC?" "Bastard.") So I was taking these minions down with 2-3 apples each. Of course, it wasn't just apples - I was grabbing anything handy, which included sneak knives, plates and fish-slices. Then Dorn threw me my quiver, which had my bow and arrows in it.
Great fun was had by all.
Oh, also - last night
bacony rang me to ask if I had seen Teen Titans (I hadn't as Mum doesn't get CNXToonami), and also for a chat. This was nice as I miss her greatly. I could feel my friendship gauge rising.
And - My old gang from Omega are chatting about what characters they will play when they go to Odyssey. I have been promised aharemgroup of eager young men will follow me around if I play a philosopher. Sounds like fun.
One more thing - I now have the Snake talisman from Jackie Chan Adventures magazine. Along with the Rooster, this means I have the power of flight and invisibility. Fear me.

-4 non proficiency (throw anything being a feat) -2 for every 10 feet (say -4 again) and it is a lot less scary ... Obviously you don't have a fascist GM winking smiley to
It is fun doing that sort of thing, and cinematic fighting where you wing it and let people arse on is fun, but nothing quite matches up to the moment when your GM reads the combat reflexes rules and realises that they go *over the page*

Still, they weren't that heavily armoured, most of my rolls were high (which is why I was laughing so much - not at the high Attack bonus, but rather at the high attack rolls (Ha - haha - thirty ... thirty-two! Aha .... hahaha ... can't breathe ...) and they weren't very far away, so it probably wouldn't have mattered too much. Besides, I'm quite certain our half-orc barbarian could have handled things well enough without me, and the guards were actually making a run for it anyway ...
(The previous paragraph written with the intention of talking Nook out of making it really really hard next session out of some spirit of revenge.)
Maybe I'll take Thow Anything the next time we get a feat, it was fun... or maybe I won't.
