Here are a few videos for your viewing pleasure. Also linked here for my own later consumption.

Firstly the JLA TV movie. It's feature-length. That is all.

Second, if you remember the X-Men episode of Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends, you may be interested to know it was a setup for a spin-off series, which never got past its pilot episode. Shows amazing foresight by renaming "The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" to "The Brotherhood of Mutant Terrorists" (presumably because you couldn't say Evil on TV in those days). With narration by Stan Lee! And creepily affectionate Nightcrawler.

(ETA: That's actually one of the better Storm voices I've heard. She actually sounds like she's from Africa, and doesn't have a stick up her ass!)

Finally, I am startled to discover that when some Japanese company made their own intros for the 90's X-Men cartoon, they turned out to be about a thousand times better than the cartoon itself. See here and here. That is a cartoon that I would watch, right there. CRY FOR THE MOOOOOOON!

I haven't posted anything of substance for a while.

Last Friday went to see Mirrormask with [livejournal.com profile] gothdog. Boring movie stuff )

The evening as a whole was most enjoyable, had a long-overdue chinwag[3] with [livejournal.com profile] gothdog (where did I ever get the impression he lived in Leeds?) and a pleasant ride home.

[1] Looking back at an old Muppet show, it struck me that the show itself was very much about experimenting with the medium. A lot of the more bizarre sketches were done purely on this basis, and the puppetry is damn impressive.
[2] A derisive term, meaning not only can you tell that the scene is CGI but it is creaky CGI. There isn't enough ambient light, or there's too many shafts of light dramatically lighting things, or things are just too pretty to possibly be real (even the rust and scratches are aesthetically positioned). Too much canned crash spray. In fact it would perhaps be more accurate to say the CGI is not creaky enough.
[3] SPACED fans: No.
