Last few presents received (for the time being): new MP3 player (from Mum), chocolates and Superted DVD (from sister), YOUNG AVENGERS graphic novel (from
ed_fortune). This last = very good. Almost makes me want to buy it full time[1]. Alas! I am poor.
EDIT: Oh yes and a Dalek on a chain, as well as the Doctor Whoannual script book 2005. And Abi made a cake!
Also: Been to see Nanny McPhee. Excellent family fare, believable character reformations, realistic (IMO) children, excellent performances. My only criticism is that the titular character ( spoilers? )
It's probably just me, but scary boy with enormously pale skin and completely black eyes may one day make an excellent Daniel.
[1] This is partly because the fanboyish nature of the Young Avengers themselves, going all "OMG!" whenever they mean an actual superhero, even relatively obscure ones that even I've never heard of, and partly because I'm loving the artwork. But I have to admit it's due in no small part to certain subtle interpersonal relationships. And, of course, I always have respect for somebody who slips an awful joke past me. Billy and Teddy, indeed. They do make a nice couple...
