Spent most of yesterday and today walking.  Yesterday I strolled over to Urmston and thence to the Trafford Centre, around which I walked for a while before walking home to Stretford.  Then, today, I travelled once again to Urmston and back, before catching the traim into Manchester, where I wandered the shops a bit.  I have no idea what distance that is but I now have a blister and the tendons under my knees hurt.

This little trek was in aid of locating one of the free Last Laugh books.  The first day I forgot the name of the Urmston bookshops that were supposed to be carrying it (understandable as they were actually newsagents), then went to the Trafford Centre on the offchance that the Waterstones there may have some (it wasn't listed on the website but must of the other Waterstones were listed and you never know); today I went to the right shop in Urmston but they didn't have any for some reason.  Apparently they'd had several people in there asking already.  Luckily, Waterstones in the city centre had a small pile.

Naturally, as soon as I go some small way to filling my free time I start getting interested prospective employers.  There's a possible permanent in Preston, a suggested short-term in Sheffield and some random inquiries from a man with the unlikely name of Paulo Hu in Chinatown.  (I have an appointment with the latter at 10:30 tomorrow morning, possibly regarding content management systems.  Paulo is not a very chinese name, is it?) EDIT: Had a call about another job that will involve working from home, an office and also Spain. Coolio.

Also my first art commission.  I am debating as to whether to declare it to the jobcentre people or not.  I am vaguely curious about how severely I would be punished for having earned some money (it seems quite harsh - the earned cash comes out of your JSA and you have to fill in so very many forms), and technically it's the law, but it's not exactly proper published illustration work - it's just something for a friend, in return for which they may give me some small consideration.  And I would hate to have to waste government resources on such a trivial thing - it takes time to process those forms...

Such quandaries.

So, this is where I am right now, in terms of World of Warcraft.  I'm the guy on the ground, and everybody else is the chick.

Eerily, some of those people are supposed to be employed.
