"I built the sculpture so it can break down easily into smaller parts, thus making it mobile. Because, like most people, I like to take large sculptures of people frozen in carbonite with me whenever I travel."

I think it's worth looking around Nathan's site, his creations are interesting and he has a definite sense of wry self-deprecating humour about him. Like his Cosmo drink model, which he apparently constructed with "one part LEGO and one part love. Except without the love. She's a drunk anyway."

The thing that most irritates me about Firefox?  When you open a link in a new tab, and it doesn't load because your internet connection's down, it doesn't bother putting the address in the address bar.  Which means you have to hope you still have the original page open, or your page is lost for all time.  This would be less of a problem if the wireless network didn't flake out so often.

In other news, for the first time in some good while there is officially no geek tonight, and it's not just on hiatus or put off for a week due to celebratory meals or whatever.  This saddens me, to the point where I may consider running something myself.  Maybe I'll finish reading Mutants and Masterminds, or re-read Big Eyes, Small Mouth or something.

In the meantime, [livejournal.com profile] stsquad and [livejournal.com profile] tractorb have appropriated my evening by arranging to see Team America: World Police.  I don't recall exactly where or when but I remember the Trafford Centre and Printworks being thrown around ... I should probably have mentioned I'd rather drive us all to Bolton where cinemas are free (for me).  There would be the added bonus of maybe having other people join us!  In fact if anyone from Bolton's interested in going I may choose to be a Dirty Splitter once again.

New website is up.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Layout has been tweaked, moving the boxout over to the sibedar. I feel like I've cheated a bit by using a div to contain both the sidebar elements, but that div was there already in order to panelbeat the IE div implementation into behaving itself, so I've sort of taken two wrongs and maken a right since that div now has a more legitimate purpose.

As now coded, it would be easy to make that second side box appear on every page. Worth it?

I may have made some progress with my wireless network; telling Windows not to manage it and using the packaged software instead seems to work a whole lot better.

Off to the cinema now (not UGC in Bolton, but AMC or AGP or whatever in Manchester).  Team America, away!

Back from Team America: World Police.  I have not laughed so hard in years.
