We Wish You
Dec. 21st, 2004 09:51 pmNo geek tonight -
gowhonker fell of his bike and
pkgem isn't feeling well. Naturally am most distraught as this means I won't have seen either of them for like three weeks or something since I'm away next week.
Oh - did I mention? Tomorrow I jet off to sunny Yorkshire for approx 1 week. This is technically my Christmas Holiday.
On a related note, I have sent no Christmas cards this year. This was largely a conscious decision, because I do not see their point. I saw on TV once that the giving of cards came about because one Victorian gentleman, one year, could not find the time to write his habiltual annual letterograms to each and every one of his distant friends and family, so sent them pretty pictures instead. There may or may not have been twee poetry inside, and this may or may not be apocryphal, but still the point stands - why throw money at the greeting card companies to send greeting cards to people I have said "Merry Christmas" to in person?
That said, I suppose I should have sent cards to those friends and family whom I shall not be seeing this year. Maybe I'm just cheap. Whatever the case, I shall say instead this: To each and every body on my friendslist, I do wish you a merry Christmas, and I would like to be able to say it to your face, along with hugs.

That Lyrics Thing
Dec. 21st, 2004 10:21 pm"Put your player on Random, & pick your favourite line from each of the 1st 10 songs. Post the lyrics & cross them off as people guess them correctly. No sneaky using google."
I've taken the liberty of not including instrumentals and dialogue clips in the "first ten songs". Because it's really tricky to pick your favourite lyric...
1. Hey hey, you're the Monkees, people said you monkeyed around
2. Do you stay silent to seem strong inside?
3. There’s no point in living if you can’t feel alive
4. But time takes too much time, please make the waiting stop
5. Every field and flower fades but love is infinite
6. Every joke can have its truth and now the joke's on you.
7. Her eyes were making silent demands as her hair came undone in my hands
8. We've been watching the riots on a monitor twenty floors below sea level, from a bunker.
9. Made from brontosaurus, baby, not a moo-cow
10. And if it's over today you'll never get that thing you had together, no way. You only get it once.
Note to self: Next time do not include instrumentals etc in playlist. Stupid Winamp.
