Raj is now all patched up and and MOTd like a good'un.  The majority of that tab went on 4 hours welding - apparently a botched underseal on a previous weld led to a hefty amount of slicing away of rust (because you can't weld to rust, right? It's self-evident), and much more welding than previously expected.  The garage man also recommended getting some magic paint to put inside one of the wheel arches, which has in the past been given a similar hasty patch job which may lead to extensive work in the future if not dealt with.

No, he didn't say "magic paint," but that's all I remember about it.

The little side trip to pick Raj up from the garage added an hour to my journey over to [livejournal.com profile] pkgem's house for Star Wars geekery, but I still managed to be first there - poor lass was beginning to worry!  The game was excellent, [livejournal.com profile] gowhonker has put a lot of thought and effort into intricately plotting a short-term self-contained adventure, which should take about 3 or 4 weeks to complete.  I am playing a surly soldier - I gave him low Charisma, and then drew him as not particularly ugly, which means he has to have no social skills.  Actually he's a bit of a cunt, and whiles away the hours on boring guard duty by throwing rocks at droids and small animals.  (He's with the Rebellion - or the New Republic - but not because it's the Right Thing To Do.  He's motivated more out of a dislike of the Empire.)

The depths of Gem's cat-love continues to amaze.  At Logan's slightest "mew" she was practically leaping up from her chair to tend to his every whim.  She was unaware the house smelled of fish.  She is already Crazy Cat Lady.

New pictures of yours truly, leeched from [livejournal.com profile] samharber's gallery and resized so they're actually viewable, are now in the partay gallery on my LJ Pichost gallery.  I may nab one or two of them for a new icon... thoughts?

Who needs Wales, anyway?

Check this shit out. If you pay them the princely sum of eighty pounds, they will let you walk away with a Game Cube console. However, if you agree to take a copy of WWE Wrestlemania X8 off their hands at the same time, not only will they not charge you extra for the privilege, but they will reward you by throwing in an "Essentials Pack" - extra controller and 4MB memory card (chicken feed, but probably worth it for the trouble of throwing WWE Wrestlemania in the bin).

That must be one fucked-up game, yo.

In other news: Just watched an episode of My Hero with one of the worst time-travel efforts ever. I know it's only a sit-com, but I'm very tired of the idea that if you travel to a point in time you've visited before you replace the previous iteration of yourself. Besides, surely there's some mileage in the idea of actually having to prevent your past self doing something, rather than just going back in time and not doing it? Sea Lab 2021 showed us that much...

ETA: Found roaming the Adult Swim site - ever wonder what happened to Ren & Stimpy creator John K? He's still working!
