Adventure on the High Seas
Jul. 12th, 2004 09:39 amI have not been updating because work has been busy, and I don't seem to bother updating from anywhere else.
Weekend was fun, went to Song of Steel and roleplayed. Adventured on the Sea Elf special as Doctor James Ladd, who I have not touched since 2001 or thereabouts. Couldn't remember much about characterisation, so I'm afraid I rather dropped into my standard cultured voice. I like to think I wasn't just being an Isaac of a different colour - while they're both confident the Doctor is a lot less cocky than Isaac, and actually cares about other people - but in a moment of tension he did yelp "Yoink!" before scarpering. Oh well. I did manage to rattle off a few "I'm a Doctor, not a (x)!" type things (mostly "soldier"), which I was pleased about, but I forgot to shout "Dammit!" first.
While it was good fun roleplaying, the Doctor was grossly underpointed and thus practically useless. His meager medical skills paled in comparison to those of Captain Polaris. He did manage to make himself useful as a spare pair of hands after Orca lost one of hers, which meant bones could still be set, but otherwise he was just there for the healthy walk and pleasant company.

stsquad talked me into doubling the amount of Flaws the character had, purely so he could take Reflex II. Considering he only got hit once I'm not sure it was worth an Enemy V. Oh well, it's not like I play him very often...
Captain Park died, which was nice.
ADDITIONAL: Just got some junk mail suggesting I "Experience More Powerful Erections". Chance, as they say, would be a fine thing.
