Heard an interesting story on Radio 1 Newsbeat this morning; apparently a survey revealed that some people believe Hitler is a fictional character, and others think that the battles of Helm's Deep and Endor (!) were real. They didn't give actual figures, and I've been unable to find the source article, but it's still appalling that even one person would think that. Hopefully they were taking the piss.

Quick update

Team leader told me that it makes more sense for me to ring the client than for him to do it and then pass things on to me. After some thought I went back to him and told him I didn't feel capable of asking the client which fields in his spreadsheet went where in our database, because that would mean explaining what the fields in the database represented in the real world and I wasn't really sure myself. He cheerfully agreed to do it for me. Felt bad.

In other news: Winamp does not enjoy playing silence from a WMA file. Entire computer slows down in fits and starts. Bah.
