Seem to be developing quite the skill in the "mascot design" department. Following my realisation of the Firestorm imp, I spent much of this weekend designing a character for somebody's biochemistry presentation. It seems to have come out quite well. Seriously, I went back to look at them again an hour later and was thoroughly stunned by the quality. I had no idea they looked so good.

Of them all, Apoptosis was probably the hardest - we had to express how this wonder drug stops Neutrophil cells from dying. I chose to illustrate this through the medium of a giant floating energy screen. He so crazy, man.

Enjoy. I'll probably put these up on my website in the folio at some point, since they're that good.

Big Surprise

Coo. A pleasant surprise awaited me when I returned home this evening: the latest Paul Cornell-penned Bernice Summerfield CD from Big Finish productions. Most interesting. Most interesting indeed. The title of this little sojourn, it turns out, is not the advertised Axis of Evil (which made sense since she's going up against a group called the Fifth Axis), but rather ... well I don't want to spoil the surprise in case anyone's listening. But suffice to say it's the return of an old enemy integral to Benny's past, and the title is entirely in keeping with the titles of their previous Doctor Who Serials.
