I had no problems with the process itself, just the stupid bag prong sensor bit. I've never worked a checkout before, but I have stood next to God-knows-how-many and watched them do it. Also I am capable of reading the instructions and matching the items in my hand to the pictures on the screen. "I am holding a banana. It has no barcode. Let me see, on the screen there are options for things with no barcode, this would be ... Produce! Push. Weigh. PUT IN BAG PUNY FLESH-THING. Damnation."
Did I mention it had a touchscreen? Touchscreen technology is cool. They are pictures that you can press, and they may change when you press them!
