For all those incensed by the approach of "Stephen Spielberg's War Of The Worlds" - you may be interested in "H G Wells' War Of The Worlds", which is apparently due out several months sooner. 

It has not been transposed to the 21st Century.
It does not feature Tom Cruise.
The Martian walkers have spiderly legs that WILL EAT YOU OMG.

This will be the only true film verson of HG Well's Book and looks very cool.. even if it don't have a nice fat American budget to go with it.
