Revelations
Jan. 14th, 2005 01:19 pmI have received this news from multiple sources. (Of interest is the part of the press release which claims "Matt Willis" is a household name, despite being listed as "Matt Jay" elsewhere on the site and all previous literature.) This does not hit as hard as many of you may believe; it was never more than a passing fancy, and as divulged below my Busted collection was not extensive.
Future tangential eyecandy interest will be directed here. I have yet to hear any of their music, but Jo Whiley has apparently played it, which is not a bad sign.
1) I am an award-winning "Tarzan".
TRUTH. Holiday camp. Age of 9-ish. I still have the award.
2) I have owned 3 cars simultaneously.
TRUTH. Have been trying to look up a reference, but the closest I can find is an inference here - in that post I mention having two, and that I junked a third when I picked up a part for one of them. The Metro mentioned there is the same one that got towed just before Christmas, and was sitting on my Mum's drive for about 18 months. But the point is, I owned it...
3) I have had my ponytail cut off.
TRUTH. I had one in 6th form, and had it cut off just before coming to university.
4) I only have 1 CD by "Busted".
TRUTH. Though I do have two 2005 calendars.
5) I have never been in love.
LIE. I think.
6) I do not own a copy of "The Matrix".
LIE. My Mother's Christmas present, which I received yesterday afternoon, was an Ultimate Matrix box set. Before then, though, it would have been true.
7) My shoe size is 9.
TRUTH. That is all.
8) I was born in "Birmingham".
TRUTH. Solihull hospital. Grandad still lives in Hall Green. The quotation marks are not relevant, I just noticed there were a lot and thought it would be funny.
9) I am a fan of "Lemon Jelly".
TRUTH. The band, not the foodstuff. I am much more interested in their music than I ever was in Busted, and plan to track down and purchase some actual albums when I have money again.
10) I am a published artist.
TRUE ha ha ha/
11) I find "The Pixies" to be without artistic merit.
LIE. You have to give them major points for being the first, of course, and I even like some of the songs as presented. I take issue with the performance and delivery on the majority of the tracks, though, as I will have no truck with harsh shrieking, heart-felt or otherwise. I know that man can sing and it's disappointing when he doesn't. Even so, some of those songs are well written and the music's usually good. If you can hear it through the roaring.
12) I've never bought a "Pixar" movie.
TRUTH. Nook bought me some for Christmas but I've never bought any myself. Not sure why.
13) I have been to "Disneyland".
LIE. I have been to Walt Disney World.
14) I was in a musical production of "The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe".
TRUTH. I was Peter.
15) I never drank alcohol before I came to university.
LIE. I was forced to drink a glass of champagne every New Year's Eve. And I had in fact tried the stuff on occasion, when urged by friends or family ("Go on, have a sip of my beer" or "You would like a glass of wine" respectively).

Date: 2005-01-14 02:42 pm (UTC)Lemon Jelly: Great music for 30 seconds of TV program credits(I believe King Rahm was used on Jaimie's kitchen), otherwise a bit too dull. You may like to try some Royksopp.
