Extended, which is a word that here is used to mean "Goes on longer than intended"
Spent an enjoyable weekend in various people's companies. Saturday was the by-now-traditional Pre-Christmas Meal, which myself,
bacony and
batelf arrange each year because we're all busy on the day itself. (This made more sense back when we shared living space, but is by no means unwelcome in this modern age.) As a result I already have opened some of my presents - Katy got me a Home Tattoo Kit, which involves fewer needles than you might imagine and more felt tip pens, while Chris splashed out on an Incredibles soundtrack, which was nice. Also a book of 100 Ways to live a Long and Happy Life. Also present and correct were
samharber,
psion_x and
pit_fishes. We watched a lot of Futurama and the Extended Return of the King. Spent the night in Sam's bed. Nothing happened.
Used the opportunity to recover some items stolen by Katy when she moved out. The mistake may have been in putting them in a box that was still labelled "Katy Things Fragile" from the previous move...
Today involved a brief present drop then a trip to the kinema to see A Series Of Unfortunate Events with some friends (
arwel,
icklejo,
renniek,
tractorb,
bacony,
pit_fishes - Sam was initially going to come with some other Boltonicans but decided instead to steal our friends by arranging a separate trip to a different cinema on the other side of the tracks.) It was not as massive a departure from traditional children's fare as it could have been, being only slightly darker in tone and containing easily distinguishable Black Hats and White Hats, but then it is still a children's movie, so not perhaps such a surprise. A thumping good film nonetheless, and Sonny steals the show completely.
In unrelated news: I suspect two of my friends may be very pleased indeed with the presents they have got each other.
Must do comics round-up at some point in the future. But they have been building up so.
CLOSING NOTE: I still have a couple of presents to drop off -
myki and
zheers. This may in fact not prove possible. Well, I shall try.

Identity Crisis has be Snarked several times of late by Eric Burns at http://www.websnark.com/
It seems he was not entirely impressed with the series...

"The fact that Ralph and Sue Dibny were publicly known? Irrelevant to Sue's murder. Unless you believe that Ralph should have hidden his identity from the Atom, lest the Atom's wife decide to go walking in Sue's brain."
I am also at a loss as to how Jean Loring would be aware of Robin's secret identity. Unless they send out newsletters or something.
