For the last two days I have awoken in Bolton and proceeded, upon being ejected from the house by
gowhonker, towards Stretford in an orderly fashion. This has turned out to be a frighteningly bad idea. Before the hour of 11AM any and all roads heading even vaguely towards Manchester are completely and utterly packed full of cars. Today I tried going over to Worsley, in order to avoid the M60 altogether, but it seems there are many folk who have the same idea also.
I eventually got home after a stop in Asda, where I bought storage crates for my LRP kit and the latest issue of PC Zone - DVD edition - which apparently comes with a copy of the Everquest 2 avatar creation software. This strikes me as a Good Idea and may make up for the loss of the City of Heroes one. Here's hoping.
in other news, I got a call from a job agency asking if they could put me forward for a job somewhere between Knutsford and Altrincham, which isn't too far away. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: Yeah, the character generator thing is okay, and you get to be a lot more specific about the facial features (as I gather is common in this type of game, where clothing is determined by what clothing you put on in-game). It's no substitute for CoH though. Sigh.

And finally, the male wood elf's face in the EQ2 CharGen gives me the fear - all the features are too close to the centre.
