Memo to self:

Must experiment with theory that telephoning housemate mid-week for a chat may reduce instances of discovering her location only through other people's livejournals.

Mixed feelings on the matter. I had already discounted the possibility of going to Ed's bash (I spend little enough time in Manchester, and the idea of gallivanting off to Newcastle in answer to some vague plans regarding a mysterious pub, somewhere, on one of my precious weekends did not appeal greatly). Still, the old exclusionist paranoia is rearing its ugly head. I am sure [livejournal.com profile] bacony will return with tales of a wonderful night spent discussing philosophy and the arts with intellectual giants, and I will feel left out. And spurned.

In reality, of course, I spent a wonderful day at [livejournal.com profile] pkgem's house. We played Pictionary (more fun than it sounds), watched the entire third season of Coupling and John Carpenter's The Thing, and ate pizza. Much fun was had by all. And tomorrow will likely be fun too, as [livejournal.com profile] batelf will make an appearance with bad Ninja DVDs. Utilising the new house key that Katy has given him, no doubt.

But as with all my decisions, my inherent inferiority complex is making me feel that this was the wrong choice and I should have gone to Newcastle. Bad form to begin a paragraph with a conjunction, I know, but life's just full of little disappointments.

You should relax more and learn not to second guess yourself. Or you'll end up like me.

Gentle Piss Taking

Oh! What a night we had! The music, the dancing, the dresing-up-as-clowns. The conversation! Oh! And as for the food - well, the food was good. Curry. And good company. Only a single dark cloud in the sky - "where is Andy?" we asked ourselves. "How can we have a good time without him?" And we wept, each and every one, for his absence.

Seriously though, come up next time. Assuming The Katies had sufficient fun and were not put off by . . . anything . . . I'm sure this will be the beginning of several such visits, possibly on an exchange basis. "Coupling" and "The Thing" are almost as good as free food. Almost.

I couldn't even be bothered to finish shaving once I knew you werent coming and it was just the Laydeez. (shakes head). You were with us in spirit, anyway, as I had a good chat about you with [livejournal.com profile] bacony. No need to worry. Winking smiley.

Say no to clowns...

Glad you had fun at mine. Sorry about the lack of clowns but they scare me. Not a lot. But enough not to want to watch The Thing with them... ;-p

Clowns = Evil. Nuff said.
