FRIDAY: Went to [livejournal.com profile] pkgem's house, watched Babylon 5, generated Babylon 5 RPG characters. Much fun, and I managed not to take six hours about it. Paul (XLJ) sat in his room and drank.

[livejournal.com profile] gowhonker talked me into sleeping in his spare bed.

SATURDAY: Played in house while Nook went to work: surfed web, played various GameCube games (Buffy, Clone Wars, Hulk).  Felt vaguely like a house pet.  Then Nook got home and we went to see Hero.  Very pretty movie, very pretty indeed.  As [livejournal.com profile] wulfboy says, excellent use of colour... and yes, I wouldn't say the message is pro-communist, if anything it's pro-imperialism.  Actually, now that I think about it, it's anti-patriotism - basically saying that it's not worth fighting about who's in charge of the land, or what name you give it, what's important is the land itself and the people in it.

Or something.

Came home to Stretford, played a few hours of City of Heroes.  I probably won't bother renewing my subscription; quite aside from the hardly-ever-here aspect, it is beginning to appear an exercise in futility.  You go in, you beat up some people, you leave.  Nothing's really resolved.  It's all very pretty, and the team tactics aspect of the play is moderately enlivening, but I rarely feel as though I've actually accomplished anything.  Give me a good single-player with an enrossing plot - with a beginning, middle and end - any day.  (I will miss the character designer, though.  Big-time.  Seriously, if they put that on sale as a stand-alone, I would shell out good money.)

SUNDAY: Got up.  Went to shops.  Purchased Harry Potter Flashing Wand.  Off to see Resident Evil: Apocalypso soon.  That is all.
