Oct. 6th, 2004 10:56 amRaj is now all patched up and and MOTd like a good'un. The majority of that tab went on 4 hours welding - apparently a botched underseal on a previous weld led to a hefty amount of slicing away of rust (because you can't weld to rust, right? It's self-evident), and much more welding than previously expected. The garage man also recommended getting some magic paint to put inside one of the wheel arches, which has in the past been given a similar hasty patch job which may lead to extensive work in the future if not dealt with.
No, he didn't say "magic paint," but that's all I remember about it.
The little side trip to pick Raj up from the garage added an hour to my journey over to
pkgem's house for Star Wars geekery, but I still managed to be first there - poor lass was beginning to worry! The game was excellent,
gowhonker has put a lot of thought and effort into intricately plotting a short-term self-contained adventure, which should take about 3 or 4 weeks to complete. I am playing a surly soldier - I gave him low Charisma, and then drew him as not particularly ugly, which means he has to have no social skills. Actually he's a bit of a cunt, and whiles away the hours on boring guard duty by throwing rocks at droids and small animals. (He's with the Rebellion - or the New Republic - but not because it's the Right Thing To Do. He's motivated more out of a dislike of the Empire.)
The depths of Gem's cat-love continues to amaze. At Logan's slightest "mew" she was practically leaping up from her chair to tend to his every whim. She was unaware the house smelled of fish. She is already Crazy Cat Lady.

Date: 2004-10-06 03:27 am (UTC)"FFS, kick her out in the garden, she'll clean herself off eventually" I was shouting, but no, he donned some rubber gloves and washed her off with warm water and a rag - for about an hour....
She still stank and I made her stay in the utility room over night (he wasn't happy) and this morning she emerged all shiny and clean.
Cats are lovely, but there is a limit. And washing Diarrhoea from a cat is just stupid and totally unnecessary in my book.

Date: 2004-10-06 05:57 am (UTC)I'm not a crazy cat lady. I just love my adorable little Logan and wish to ensure that he is happy. Mewing is usually a sign on a unsatisfied desire - I cannot have that. He mind-controls me I've never had to wash poo off Logan but we do dry him when he comes in from the rain. It started when he came is soaked once and I used kitchen roll to soak the rain of his beautiful yet wet little body. Now he expects it and will sometimes rub against me and mew until I dry him. He's not spoilt. He's needy. I no longer have a will of my own
