Gmail

I now have a gmail account - Yoshiyama (at gmail dotcom.)  Large attachments can reach me there, though I'll still be using andysdrawings (or bennee) for my day-to-day babble.

Note to self: Must speak to [livejournal.com profile] stsquad about IMAP and ports and such again some time.

ssh -f -n -N -L 143:localhost:143 andy@bennee.com

Or equivilent in your ssh client, you basically tunnel the imap connection over ssh and you can access the IMAP on bennee.com as though it was on your machine.

No, you connect via wireless connection and the reason I run IMAP over ssh is to keep the plain text password encrypted. I can walk you through it though, its not hard.

Little more than 10 feet away. Anyway we can sort it out when I see you next.

May have to jump on the bandwagon sometime. Even my cousin's boyfriend's got gmail... Plus I need a new email address! Can you guys help me once I've moved in? (I don't always get on well with computers!)

Sure, I'll send a gmail invite. You can have a bennee.com address as well if you want...

Andy, that is a really stupid address name.
The difference being, before you could say "kingandy, one word, Kingandy" now you have to say "y o s h i y a m a at..."

Am i alone in the world in thinking that e-mail addresses should be easy to spell and easy to remember...
