A world of broken dreams

No windscreen yesterday, due to inept scheduling - the workman apparently had several other appointments that morning, one of them in Scarborough.  Rearranged for today.

My LJ client tells me it is foul_temptress' birthday.  I have bought her nothing, but then I probably won't see her for weeks and weeks, so I have time.  In the meantime I send her BIG LOVE.

Last night I let my Mum cut my hair.  It's a bit shorter than I wanted - ponytail's now only about 6-7 inches - but much neater and a hell of a lot more manageable.

Each and every one of bacony's weekend lifts have fallen through.  (Except spodula, who can do Friday night, which is not a massive amount of time.)  Naturally, being a damsel who is somewhat in distress, I cannot resist her plaintive cries for help.  If all goes well I will not need to miss kmazzy's party at all.

So, CURRENT PLAN: I go home to Stretford on Friday night and help with the moving.  (Sorry Sam, you will not be able to get me drunk and take advantage of me until Saturday.)  Assuming we get everything moved, I will either travel to Sam's place and kip there ready for the early start, or join him there in the morning.  Then proceed as planned.  The flaw in the plan comes when we do not get everything moved on Friday, in which case I will need to continue moving things the following day so that Karen can move into Katy's room on Sunday.  If somebody gives me directions to the party I might try to drive down then, but I can't promise anything.

Anyway.  We're only moving one person's stuff this time, and it's all packed up already (in theory), so all should go well on Friday.  Fingers crossed.  Sam, I'll keep you posted if and when I'm free to drive over.

As do I. I was rather looking forward to the party, even bought new clothes (though no swimming trunks, it's apalling how hard it is to find them at this time of year). I am confident that we will work like eager little beavers though.
