Say It Ain't So
Jul. 30th, 2004 09:34 amOMG. Oh cock. Cock shit motherfucker.
I've been eager for a Green Lantern movie for a while, because I think the modern special effects shops could do an excellent go of it. (Think of certain scenes in The Matrix, and tell me we can't do green-hued energy constructs yet.) Obviously it would be somewhat big budget (if it was done well), but it has potential to be SO DAMN GOOD.
However, it turns out that Warner Brothers - in their infinite wisdom - have decided to drop the word "good" in favour of the words "ZANY" and "COMEDY". Dear sweet Jesus fuck.
No, it definitely is not cool.
Apparently DC are fuming, but have no choice but to bow to their corporate overlords.
Like the AIC reporter, I do like Jack Black, but he is no Green Lantern.
In tangentially related news: Wow, I expected this guy - writer and director of Donnie Darko - to be older, geekier, and probably fatter. Certainly a lot less ... hot.
