Aaaaaahhhhh
Apr. 4th, 2004 07:27 pmI was in the mood to blow off some steam on the way home from work. I'm not a very angry person in general, but working all weekend made me want to put on something dark and loud to be angry for me. Luckily, forseeing this eventuality, I put Rob Dougan's Furious Angels CD onto tape last week, so slipped that into the tape deck and turned the volume up to three quarters (I don't usually go much beyond half, 0.4 is more typical).
Perfect. The title track was deep and sonorous (is that the right word?), rumbling right through me as I sang along to the bits I remembered and hummed to the bits I didn't. Very cathartic. Then, as it moved onto "Will You Follow Me" (a gorgeous, soaring, instrumental orchestral piece) the sun came out, giving me a beautiful, peaceful view of Wharfedale's rolling green hills. Suddenly everything was right with the world.
Aaaaahh. That's better.
