While I'm here
There's a few things I mentioned in earlier journal entries that haven't been cleared up.
The spare TV has vanished. This is a good thing, it means we can get to our "cellar" (read: space under the stairs). Everybody at the TV rental place assumed my housemate Katy was my wife. That's just wooly thinking, IMO. Just because somebody female answered the phone, opened the door, they assume there's a marriage going on, or any kind of relationship at all? Several of my unmarried couple friends tell me that the same thing still happens when the bills (or what have you) are in the name of the lady of the house; their SO's get called "Mr" whatever. That's even worse, because the ladies' names are still "Miss". Not even the ambiguous "Ms". And what's that all about, anyway?
Er ... well. Anyway.
The other thing is my car. The old little white one died, the very week that I bought Sam's old one, which was jolly convenient let me tell you. It just waited until I didn't need it any more and gave up the ghost. I plan to try and sell it for money, somehow, rather than paying to have it taken away. Amusingly, Sam's new car is crap and needs lots of work to just keep it running. Apparently if he'd spent on mine what he's now spent on his he would have a perfectly working car, whereas his current car still requires plenty work. Ha ha ha ha ha!
