Today's Interview

Interview in pub in Nantwich.  Company is not in fact Spanish; their office is only there because the MD decided he wanted to live in Spain.

The interviewer said I was perhaps too technical in experience for the position they were thinking of (which was odd since he basically described a technical position, I think maybe they're really looking for an extra pair of hands to take some of the workload).  He did, however, like the idea of my design skills and thought maybe there could be room for me in the company.  (Of course he could have just been saying that.)

He was the spitting image of wibblefish.

Finally: Separated at birth?

I dunno... I think he looks more like a certain big nosed, quiff battling, skinny, rake like chap that I know...

renniek et al have been saying for years that I look like him with a ponytail. I've never thought so, and indeed when I saw the icon I thought "yes, he looks a lot more like Mikey than me", but then when I saw the icons together ...

It's just the big collar and the pirate costume. I'm pretty sure.

Nantwich is my hometown...which pub did you go too?

The Leopard. On the A51 London Road. It looked like one of those family pubs.

It is indeed a family pub now. It used to be a favourite of some of my friends back when we were students, but we used to get told off for being too loud in there, and some of us were eventually banned.

So, do you think they may offer an alternative position to you or something?

I don't know, that was certainly what he seemed to be saying but he may have been lying or trying to be gentle. He's got some other people to see so I shan't hold my breath.
