Subtracting, but I'm not certain the right numbers are being subtracted. That one's probably just paranoia on my part, and I didn't want to break the flow of the game to nitpick something like that. GM batelf was happy enough (though I get the impression he's happy to go along with most things as long as you phrase it as a statement rather than a question).

I checked and double-checked my own dice pools since they seemed extraordinarily high, but that's just the way I've powergamed it, I guess.
