Finally heard back about that job I interviewed last week; I did not get it. Apparently it was nothing on the technical front, they were simply after somebody energetic, bright-eyed and busy-tailed, and I do usually come across as somewhat laid back.  It is a failing of mine.  In my last job I was advised to try to look more stressed by things, since cow-orkers were apparently annoyed that I could be so relaxed as everything fell down around us.

In an unrelated story, I appear to have left my car insurance documentation in Ilkley, which is annoying as I need to tax my car before the end of the month, and because I know almost exactly where it is.  Mayhap I shall visit mother some time mid next week.

Hmm. After a brief look, I don't think anything there really suits my skillset. Unless there are other jobs that aren't on there ... I suppose I could send my CV speculatively.

Laid back fits. I suspect you miss out on things for lack of enthusiasm sometimes, either that or you are very quiet about being enthusiastic, which loses half the fun.

I am very quiet about it, or rather it does not show externally. I've been told not to look so relaxed during what I thought were some of my most fevered busy patches...

Bummer on the job news front. You really should try roleplaying your interviews - in todays NPC role, Andy plays "Enthusiastic Boy" or something... You can be yourself once they've employed. Still, tough break. They're obviously not good enough for you.
