Jun. 23rd, 2008 11:51 amThe important thing when bughunting is to strip out all your assumptions and just look directly at the facts at hand. Finding one event immediately before another does not imply a causal link, even if it happens several times; likewise the apparent absence of an error doesn't mean it won't ever happen, just that you haven't recreated the exact conditions necessary yet. Similarly, if you isolate a cause of the bug and remove it, you can't be certain that there aren't other factors somewhere else that will do the same thing.
