I have downloaded all of Voices of the Lifestream - an Overclocked Remix project, remixing a vast number of tracks from the Final Fantasy VII sountrack - and am currently listening through them. In general I recommend it to anyone who likes FF7, it's an eclectic mix of electro / orchestral / rock / all kids of different music, and most of it of a high standard (IMO).
There's one track I've skipped over a number of times now, dismissing it as a fairly workmanlike synth reproduction of the original track, with a faintly embarassing shrieking-woman vox sample. And it is, until about 30 seconds in. Then it all goes a bit Linkin Park. With kickass percussion.
It's track 9 on Disk 3 - The Crossroads, based on Cid's Theme. I am rather enjoying it.
