Today
Back from the interview. I think it went quite well, I made some crap up for the competency questions and the presentation was quite smooth. It's not in the CIS tower - it's in the new CFS headquarters just opposite Victoria Station, which is a converted bank vault and really quite nice inside.
Met up with
gowhonker for lunch (that is to say, we wandered around Travelling Man and Forbidden Planet), because I was in town and haven't seen him for a week or two. It is shocking how bad I am at keeping in touch with people I don't see on a regular basis, I just don't bother. Still, that is what LJ is for.
Oh, and I heard about Monday's interview - no luck, I was pipped to the post by a somebody who was apparently not as good as me, but lived around the corner so cost them £4000 less. I am now keener than I was on the CFS job.
If all else fails, Nook mentioned a job in his department. It is monkey work and pays peanuts, but it would at least be actual work and we'd be working in the same office. And apparently the non-salary financial incentives are good, being a bank. All things being equal, though, I think I'd rather wait until I hear back from CFS...
