Saw half an episode of Enterprise today. They were hanging out on a desert planet, in some cave-like buildings, with some terrorists. Despite these derelict conditions, when they joined in the local sport passtime - basically Lacrosse with ring-like targets - it was with a space energy ball. That evaporated pointlessly when you scored a goal. I suspect this was primarily because the ball was added later (so as to not worry about timing, precision or skill on the part of the actors), and animators get bored really easily. It may also have been to remind the audience that they are in space. I still say Firefly goes too far in the other direction (crazy Basketball antics made sense, but horseshoes?), but there is no denying that the Star Trek canon uses far too much spanky magic space technology where a ball or rock would do just as well.

T'PauPol tries to be unemotional and coldly logical, but just comes across as bored. On the plus side, I am still pleased to see the token white boy from Desmond's starring as tactical officer. That's something that never gets old!

These Cat Dolls and Marionettes may be of interest to Maelstromgoers

Also the current issue of TVGoHome mentions a program about cats on Channel Yep. Well ... I say "current". It's actually a bit old. But still the latest.

Yep.
