I just want to bring this week of comics to everybody's attention. The Japanese Beetle is a strip I check out once in a while because it's often kinda pretty. The artist knows a lot about strip composition and posh artist stuff like that. Only problem is, he can get kind of behind with things; I think he's still trying to catch up from some time in December. That particular week, though, is pretty darn cool.

To fill you in ... at the start of the week, the eponymous hero is teaming up with Joe McCarthy ("Not dead - just frozen! And thawed out whenever Communism rears its ugly mug!") to battle The Monsters of Socialism. Rarr!

Day Thirty-Two

Spent all day hanging about on bridge looking pretty before Aragorn happened along. Accused him point-blank of hobbit-fancying. He told me that Isildur had been a pervy hobbit-fancier, and he was just trying to build his career in a similar fashion. Told him: "You are Isildur’s heir, not Isildur himself." To which he replied, "If only you were a bit shorter, and had bigger feet."


Apparently the author retired after writing the three Two Towers diaries presented there, but somebody else has written an follow-up series of Very Secret Journals.
