Last night was interesting.
Dec. 4th, 2003 10:14 amFirst I had a call from Caroline Whiting ( Who she? ).
She was primarily ringing to ask me to start a new character at SoS. She has a fairly good idea about a whole team whose concept is use of the Chant spell, but in typical Caroline style has decided to model them after an American football team and cheerleaders. With Egyptian influences. Or something. I told her no thanks, because I already have too many characters and am thinking of starting a couple more anyway, and also don't want to buy specific kit for something that I would frankly only play once. (Accentuating the positive, I thanked her for thinking of me.) We got to chatting and she mentioned that her youger sister Rachel is due to drop sprog on Christmas Eve, and also that they were thinking of going to the December SoS event (two weeks earlier). That seemed to me to be fecking stupid, and I told her. She seemed to take it rather well, she backpedalled a bit and said they weren't definitely going yet...
Then me and my Mum watched Second Coming. It was very good, a primetime drama based around ... well, the Second Coming. The Son of God. Very tense and touching, with excellently subtle demon effects and one or two big-budget miracles. Odd ending though. Not exactly upbeat, but neither is it a complete downer ... it just happens. We're left to ourselves to decide whether it's a good or a bad thing. Even the characters aren't sure.
Which is nice.
Must spend less time on Intarwebs. People are starting to complain.
