My original plan was to eat less fatty foods and exercise. I have managed to lose 1st by eating less fatty foods (not adding red pesto to every meal or eating half a jar of mayo with everything helps :-). If you want an easy way of cutting down on fat but like fried foods then buy "Fry-Lite". I also recommend exercise but if you're like me and find exercise the most boring thing on the planet - then I can guess that you won't keep it up (just like me - I lasted 2 days or something...). Exercise machines are naff to - I bought one of them in the hope I could watch TV while exercising but no! Damn thing is too loud! You know if only they'd pay me to me at home and do little I could make a lot more practical use of my time...
