Qui à coupé la fromage?
Just watched the last episode of Freakazoid! - a very fitting end to the show. They may or may not have known it would be the last ever, but I imagine every time you come to the end of a season you have half an eye on whether or not you'll get renewed, so you have three options: carry on as normal, create a cliff-hanger (to increase chance of renewal), or go for a big blow-out finale. Freakazoid! went for the latter.
Watching the entire series through, it's struck me how many people agreed to lend their voices. People you wouldn't normally expect to find on an animated children's show, like Jack Valenti, and they'd usually let the writers poke plenty of fun at themselves. It must have been a great show to work on - I can imagine them throwing around crazy ideas that wouldn't even get considered on a normal show, like a team-up with TV carpenter Norm Abram, and then rather than taking a breath and coming up with something more reasonable they'd just follow it through, give them a call, drop Spielberg's name... I doubt we'll see its like again.
