Post-Maelstrom
Jul. 26th, 2004 04:45 pmJust thought I should relate the journey home.
The trip from the site to Manchester went remarkably well - so well that we thought we would have time to drop
mrssshhh off at the station. And we would have, had we not been so secure in our advancedness that we sat down at
arwel's house for a cup of tea and a chat with
icklejo. Half an hour later we jumped back in the car and made all speed to Victoria Station, where we missed the train by five minutes. D'oh! Returned to
arwel's to deposit passenger and luggage. Am given to understand he is making his way home via public transport today.
mrssshhh joins the remarkably small subset of passengers who has actually offered petrol money, so I took payment in the form of two meals from motorway service stations (approx. equiv. £10). Did not ask
arwel for same because (a) was full, (b) forgot. Is nothing to do with politeness. Alright, maybe a little.
